RaetsMarine is capable of offering all marine insurances – P&I, liability and property – which is placing RaetsMarine in a ‘one stop’ position for marine insurances. RaetsMarine will remain a niche player and specialist delivering their clients an unraveled service level through tailor-made insurance packages and in house claims services. We resist clients who by reason of their size believe they are in a position to impose terms.
We do not have any priority targets in marine hull insurance on stand alone basis. We will also refrain from participating in the mainstream (subscription)markets. Our aim is to focus on clients, who have placed their P&I insurances with us and use our marine hull capacity to complement ‘one stop’ programs. Any marine hull enquiry will be scrutinized most carefully to meet our requirements in respect of the client relation, the risk management and the terms and conditions.
Marine hull is generally known as a market which is producing losses to insurers. In fact it is the same with the mainstream P&I business underwritten by the International Group of P&I.
Since we have found a solution to underwrite Shipowners P&I business, we believe we can also find a solution for underwriting hull policies successfully. All in house knowledge on claims handling, condition surveys and loss prevention may contribute to creating a competitive edge to the benefit of both the Shipowner and the insurer. Only long term loyalty and commitment can create viable and sustainable solutions.
Although this product is relatively new we believe that we can play a significant role in this segment of the market. Through our claims professionals and our risk management department we can provide our clients with a substantial service level, not only in handling claims, but also in rendering an intrinsic and pro-active service in loss prevention and legal advices about contracts and the client’s activities.
To enhance our ‘one stop’ approach we can offer clients with multi-modal and freight forwarding activities any additional marine insurance cover for cargo and/or hull risks.
We offer a comprehensive fixed premium based P. & I. package that can be tailor made to suit the needs of every Shipowner, no matter how small. For cargo carrying vessels we generally restrict the size to 10,000GT and resist Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Pacific voyages and trading to and from USA. We specialize in non-cargo carrying vessels, such as yachts, fishing vessels, tugs, supply vessels and any other special crafts operated at sea or in ports. In principle there are no restrictions to age and singletons will be quoted.
With our niche position we are well placed in the P&I market for small tonnage and maintain our position as such, unless profit outlooks for bigger ships will improve, which in our view is still not the case.
We can provide cover for any additional insurances required, such as: war risks, bunker, freight, detention, SOL, etc.
RaetsMarine constantly innovate their products and services to meet the requirements of any special or specialist marine operations. Through are risk management abilities we will be able to create a comprehensive, tailor-made coverage for both liabilities and physical losses. For this purpose we will design special wordings, as and when required.
We can insure all types of inland crafts, cargo and non-cargo carrying vessels, dry cargo and tankers, no matter how big or small.
Our market share in inland craft is steadily growing.
